Save a contact and set up favorites
Saving someone's number means you can call them by name, and you'll know it's them when they call. Favorites put the people you call most at the top.
Save a new contact
- Open the Contacts app.
- Tap the + (plus) button.
- Type their first name, last name, and phone number. You can add an email or address too.
- Tap Done.
Save a number that just called you
- Open the Phone app and find the call in your recent calls.
- Tap the number (or the i button next to it).
- Tap Create New Contact, type their name, then tap Done.
Add someone to Favorites
- Open the Contacts app and tap the person's name.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Favorites.
- If asked, choose how you'd like to reach them, like a call or a message.
To call a favorite, open the Phone app. Depending on how your Phone app is set up, your Favorites are at the top of your calls or under Favorites. Tap a name to call.
Numbers worth saving
- Family and close friends
- Your doctors and pharmacy
- Your bank's real phone number, from the back of your card
- Anyone you'd want as an emergency contact in Medical ID
Saved numbers keep ringing through even if you quiet unknown callers. See Block spam calls and texts.
